50th Reunion

Our 50th reunion was held October 24-26, 2014, with optional events on both sides. All events were non-smoking. Visit the members-only section to see who attend and who is 'lost'. This was our best reunion ever, with the highest attendance ever. Classmates attended who have never attended a reunion before.

Reunion Yearbook

Our 50th reunion yearbook has been published! Attendees picked up theirs at the reunion. Contact us if you want a printed version.

Schedule

See our Reunion Schedule page for full, final details.

Visiting Ben Franklin High School

We were not able to visit the old school. The plan for our old school building is to convert it to a museum or condos and our cafeterium may meet the wrecking ball. A visit to the school at its current location was well attended by the Class of 63's recent 50th reunion. We met there Friday afternoon.

Class Gift

See our giving page for details of our 50th reunion class gift.

Searching for Missing Classmates

Richard Derbes and Meredith MacLeod Baranzano have made a renewed effort since the spring of 2013 to locate classmates because this is our 50th Reunion. They have used commonly available Internet techniques to locate people and think they know where some of the missing reside. We wanted to make everyone aware of those in our class that are missing or somewhat missing. If you know how to contact any of them, please get in touch with them so that they know what is going on. If they want to know about the reunion, they should email Richard with current contact information. Those listed missing are not receiving any communication (snail mail or e-mail). Also, if you want to contact any other member of the class for whom you do not have contact info, email Richard and and he will forward that information back to you. The list of missing classmates is on our members page.

Cruise ship

Post-Reunion Cruise

We followed our formal reunion with a 5-day cruise from New Orleans, now a significant cruise port. We took the Carnival Elation Monday, October 27, 2014 at 4pm and returned Saturday November 1 at 8am. Stops in Mexico were Progresso (near Merida) and Cozumel. ... more
